Bug Description

Binary package hint: desktop-effects

Testing Fiesty Beta.

P4, 1gb ram, ATI Radeon 9600 (open source driver xorg)

Desktop becomes non-functional when OpenOffice Writer is started if Workspace on a Cube is running. The only option is to <Ctrl> <Alt> <Backspace> but this is broken so I have to then <Ctrl> <Alt> <Del> to get this system going again.

I have tested several times. The problem does not happen when "Windows Wobble when moved" is active. It only happens when "Workspaces on a Cube" is active.

My testing experience so far leads me think that "Windows Wobble when moved" is pretty close to being ready for prime time. On the other hand, "Workspaces on a Cube" is not ready for prime time.

Same problem here.
Desktop freezes, keyboard doesn't work at all, only mouse works but I can't do anything. I have to reboot.

I upgraded today to Feisty from Edgy.
I have a ATI IGP340M with Open Source driver.

Here is my xorg.conf

Can you reproduce this bug with gutsy tribe-2? You should be able to check with the Live CD.
