Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20

ON my ACER TravelMate 2500, updated from Ubuntu 6.10 to 7.04 on 25/03. Every time laptop is powered on error message "[ 36.632903]..MP-Bios bug : 8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC" appears. After a short time (about a minute) start up continues and computer runs normally as far as I can see. This error message appears at every start up. It did not appear with previous releases of Ubuntu. Although already reported in similar circumstances and not critical it does cause concern about the reputation of Ubuntu and Linux. I love Feisty otherwise.

Please attach (do not inline) the output of these commands:

sudo dmidecode > dmidecode.txt
dmesg > dmesg.txt

Look at the dmidecode output for the version of your BIOS. It may require an update.
