Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-mythtv-frontend

The ubuntu-mythtv-frontend meta package does not allow the user to run the mythtv-setup application necessary to configure their mythtv installation. This meta package configures GDM to automatically login to fluxbox as the user mythtv. When the myth-frontend is closed the account automatically logs out. Since mythtv-setup needs to be run as the user mythtv and the password for the mythtv account is unknown the user there is no way to properly configure a backend/frontend machine out the box.

I'm not sure on the appropriate solution for this one as of yet. I acknowledge the issue at hand, and provide this as a workaround: When you log out, you can log in as your normal user. Running mythtv-setup will spawn the helper script to put you into the mythtv group. You will log out once more, and again log in as a normal user. Now you can run mythtv-setup from this user's account. If you have a better suggestion for how to solve this problem, feel free to post it here.
