Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-i810

i have a 19 inch lcd wide screen, resolution 1440x900
i can't set the display at 1440x900 with intel 945g on board vga.
i tried both 915resolution or auto915Resolution, they did not work.

i'm now using xserver-xorg-video-i810-modesetting, seems perfect package for my box.

so, should the standard package (xserver-xorg-video-i810) be revived(corrected)?

No, -i810 won't be fixed, it's abandoned upstream. -intel is the new driver, -modesetting was a snapshot of a prerelease.

Changed in xserver-xorg-video-i810:
status: New → Won't Fix

I am trying to setup 1440x900 @ 75 Hz in Gutsy beta. The reasolution is set but the image gets currupted.. there is some kind of 'water'/flickering effect on the screen.
I am using a Lenovo ThinkCenter A61 and a Lenovo 19'' wide screen.

any ideas?
