Bug Description

Almost everything began to crash until I rebooted with the old 3.0.0.17-generic and it was fine again!

I have build a test kernel that we would like you to test if possible. The only addition commit on this test kernel is 93dc6107a76daed81c07f50215fa6ae77691634f "Don't limit non-nested epoll paths".

I also hvae a problem (#973111 ) with linux-image-3.0.0-18-generic , I'd like to test if your fix will solve my problem.

Hello Luis, I'm very sorry but now I am just too busy to test that kernel.
I uninstalled linux-image-3.0.0-18-generic and now I keep on working with
my documents with 3.0.0-17. I hope someone else will try it as soon as
possible and see if it works fine. I also must confess that I will have a
fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS as soon as it's out. Regards, Luca

Hi

I can confirm this problem with 3.0.0-18.31. Random application crashes everywhere. Problem gone when reverting back to 3.0.0-17.

Distro: Ubuntu 11.10
Hardware: ThinkPad Z61p

Tried kernel above & no issues so far. No applications have crashed for 2 - 2 hour sessions.
