Binary package hint: alacarte

Feisty beta - when moving (drag+drop) "items" between "menus", some items (i.e. WireShark, EtherApe) do not always stick to the new menu location, but instead remain in the original location. After several attempts to move the item from one menu to another, alacarte eventually crashes.

You can reproduce this if you drag & drop two items from one menu to another without waiting for the refresh which needs about 1 second. With "refresh" I mean: view changes to the menu where the item was moved to. For example if I move an item from menu "wine" to menu "games" the list on the right side changes to "games". If you don't wait until this change happens but move another item from "wine" to "games" this crash report appears. Maybe you have to try this procedure a few times to force this problem.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Intrepid Ibex. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu.
