[feisty] minimizing windows and desktop switch is laggy

Bug Description

When minimizing windows and switching from desktop to desktop, the transition seems noticably laggy. I can see the lag when minimizing apps mostly because of the shrinking squares which pause on the way to the bottom bar.

Im running feisty on a Dell Dimension 3000. 2.8ghz 1gig memory. It has a Intel onboard video.

This is feisty specific as this did not happen on edgy or any earlier releases.
