Bug Description

Binary package hint: alsa-base

System is an Athlon 3000+, onboard sound disabled. SoundBlaster Audigy NX USB sound card plugged into usb port.

When system initially powers on, sound card sits on /dev/dsp1, and not /dev/dsp, causing sound to fail. I must go into the sound setup, and change sound settings to "USB Audio", then sound works as expected.

lspci shows the following:

Only one sound card is present in the system.

Problem appears to be in /etc/modules.d/alsa-base:

Commenting snd-usb-audio out fixes the problem.
