Bug Description
In Ubuntu 12.04 (exim4-base 4.76-3ubuntu3) is /var/lib/exim4 required by exim4-base.postinst when handling berkeleydbvers.txt, but this directory is provided by exim4-config. This causes problems when creating new custom package, which replaces exim4-config AND provides configuration files AND depends on exim4-daemon-*.
I'm not sure if this should be considered as a bug, because it's probably possible to solve it with additional apt setup. But this additional setup is imho unnecessary complication when you have to do it on many machines. And in previous versions of Ubuntu there were no problems with it.
In the attached file you can see the "main idea" - of course this directory should be created a different way.
Hi Petr
exim4-base Depends on exim4-config so I don't see how this can be a bug in the distro packaging.
If you are cutting your own exim4-config package I suggest that you ensure that it provides this directory as well.
Marking 'Invalid'.
