Bug Description

In Ambience the menu items of the panel are rendered properly both when inactive and when activated.
However when you switch to Radiance the first difference you notice is that the title of the window in bold typeface has extremely jagged edges. The menu entries also look that way until you activate the menu. After menu activation that particular item starts being rendered correctly and the difference between the broken and correct variant becomes clearly seen.

It looks like by default Radiance forces the panel to use a different subpixel rendering type.
