Keep gives this error when trying to run the backup:
Fatal error: Unable to create directory
This error occurs whether or not the chosen directory exists or not

Keep uses rdiff-backup as a backend and rdiff-backup doesn't understand the fish URI format. In order to backup to a remote location over SSH you need to use an identifier like: [USER@] MACHINE: :/full/ path/to/ dir
