Going to sleep on the thinkpad

Bug Description

I am using a Thinkpad Z60m. Closing the lid causes the laptop to have a blank screen, but not power down. When the lid is opened, the screen is garbled. It looks like it thinks that the resolution is something that it isn't? None of the these problems occur under KDE.

I can confirm this.
Happens to me with Edgy or Feisty. Running the script /usr/share/acpi-support/screenblanking manually works fine.
