Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager-gnome

Seen in Edgy AMD64, Edgy x86, and Feisty Beta x86.

If a connection is made to a wireless network using wifi radar (or other means) the network manager gnome applet will not recognize the connection. Other apps will recognize it (including a gdesklet) and be able to use it, but the applet will not.

In the attached picture, I have just connected to a wireless network and gotten an IP address. The gdesklet at the top of the screen recognizes the connection. Note the Network Manager Applet shows the "red-square-white-X" symbol to indicate it sees no connections.

FYI: Wi-Fi driver is the Serial Monkey rt73 from Subversion on March 29'th. (Earlier versions of this driver worked flawlessly on Edgy.) http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/rt73-cvs-daily.tar.gz

this should be fixed, because we don't mix ifupdown and network-manager managed interfaces anymore.
