Bug Description

Binary package hint: gqview

When I run gqview in Ubuntu Feisty Xorg freezes, and use 100% CPU.

I use
xserver-xorg-core 2:1.2.0-3ubunut6
nvidia-glx-legacy 1.0.7184+2.6.20.4-13.12
(I use a NVIDIA Corporation NV28 [GeForce4 Ti 4200 AGP 8x] card)
gqview 2.0.1-1ubuntu2

With an up to date Feisty you can probably use restricted-manager to install the 96xx drivers that will better match your card...

Can you reproduce this problem using the nvidia-glx drivers on an up to date Feisty?

I can reproduce the problem.
And, it is not only gqview that causes the problem. also gedit, and
when a user tries to contact me using gaim for chatting the screen
alos freezes (and the CPU load is 100% sue to Xorg)

I think it's already fixed on Gutsy.. I used it and don't have any crash.. I've requested a backport to feisty.
