In the OpenPGP keys (+editpgpkeys) page, the instruction to upload a key could be clearer:

   gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --send-keys key-id

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, this not a bug with Ubuntu the Linux distribution but rather a bug about launchpad. I have properly classified it for you.

Please could someone on the Launchpad team implement this simple fix? It's just the addition of "--keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com" in the instructions of the --send-keys step.

Someone else in #ubuntu-us got bit by this tonight. By default, GnuPG does not come preconfigured with a keyserver so this step is necessary for most users.
