Thank you der_vegi for your report

Can you manage to reproduce the crash and write a list of the steps to follow?
also, what extensions/plugins do you have enabled?

Changed in firefox:
status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info

yeah, i can reproduce the crash. not every try, but every third or so. here are my steps:

- go to ubuntuforums.org and open any thread
- save it by file => save page as. select "complete website" and save it as .php site.
- open the file with file => "open file"

firefox then starts to open empty tabs, every half a second or so it adds another empty tab.
- let some empty tabs open and then close firefox. => crash (but not every time)

i can prevent that by closing the tabs very fast, hitting strg + w very often.

my extensions:
- adblock plus 0.7.2.4
- german language pack

What extensions have you installed?

Do you use some special input method (if you don't know whats this,
then you probably don't).

Thanks,

If I open a it with "open file" (e.g. file I saved is called
'showthread.php') it does not open in firefox, but asks what
application to choose. What am I doing different?

input method? probably not, because i don't know what that is. i have just set most settings to utf-8.

by the way: if i rename the file - here showthread.php - to showthread.html firefox doesn't crash any more but opens the file smoothly.

For me firefox does not allow this; it always asks me to choose
application with text editor as default. Do you have something special
configured for the .php file-extension.

Strange. I think i haven't specified anything special for php files. But if I try to open it from Nautilus, it also asks me to open it with the text editor or epiphany (which then opens the text editor).
But still, from firefox I can open it without any warnings.
