A workaround for me was to remove konq-kim before the upgrade.

But while installing it back again in feisty, there was a conflict with a file, I just had to do:

cd /usr/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/
sudo mv ./imageconverter.desktop ./imageconverter.desktop.bak

In fact there is a conflict with the native Image Converter existing in feisty.

A possible solution would be to change the .desktop name of the KDE one, or of konq-kim one.

David Roberts (david.roberts) wrote :

My workaround was similar to Nicolas'. Instead of uninstalling-reinstalling, I just did:

sudo rm /usr/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/imageconverter.desktop~

(there were some error messages from dpkg-divert being unable to overwrite it). I then did a `dpkg --reconfigure -a` to configure everything that the upgrade wizard had failed to do after this error.

Same problem here.
I solved like David Roberts.

P.S. It is "sudo dpkg --configure -a", not "sudo dpkg --reconfigure -a".

Edgy and Feisty are both out of support. Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10?
