Thanks for taking the time to report this bug in Ubuntu.

Please can you attach any log files from /var/log/samba to this bug report and check that /etc/samba/smb.conf exists and has the following permissions:

   -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 12464 May 2 10:27 /etc/samba/smb.conf
