What Ubuntu version are you using, and did you enable the "Download all updates in the background" radio box in System > Administration > Software Sources > Updates?

I can confirm this is Gutsy with "Download all updates in the background" off, but "Install security updates without confirmation" on.

If I change this to "Only notify about available updates", update-manager shows "Download size: 138 KB", which must be for the first update only.

Unticking and reticking all the boxes gives the same result.

Should probably be latest stable release at time, I submitted this
bug. Don't remember really, as I submitted this bug long time ago. No,
I didn't enable the "Download all
updates in the background" radio box.

I noticed this a while ago but it appears to of been fixed now. Are you able to confirm if this has been fixed or if the problem is still present for you?
