Bug Description

On Thursday I re-installed my home computer bringing it from 11.10 to 12.04 and I also re-installed my work computer bringing it from 12.04 Beta2 to the final release. On both computers, with different Ubuntu One accounts, Ubuntu One will never finish syncing. When I run "u1sdtool --current-transfers" to see what it is doing I am noticing that the "bytes read" keeps resetting to 0 for files. It is syncing but very slowly. My work computer, after 2 days, still wasn't done syncing.

Every file less than 63000 deflated bytes seems to synchronise correctly and everything larger than that fails to synchronise.

Bytes written goes from 0 to 63000 bytes back to 0 again.

I retract my statement about larger files consistently failing to upload. Some do get trough.

Niels, is this still an issue for you? I suspect it was happening due to bandwidth being crushed on the server side, due to ubuntu 12.04 release and many users signing up with or connecting to u1 at the same time. The bandwidth issues were resolved, so everything should be getting uploaded now. Can you confirm whether you are still having issues or not? I was seeing a similar issue with several files getting TRY_AGAIN from the server around that time, but it eventually smoothed out. Thanks.

I've got what sounds like the same problem ever since I placed a 300-plus MB directory into the Ubuntu One directory. Sometimes it seems to sync for awhile, but sometimes it will go all night without any progress at all. I've been trying for days to get it to sync and so far, in fits and starts, it's uploaded about 185MB.

The crazy thing is that it burns up ALL my upload bandwidth even when it's making NO progress on uploading the files. Any other use of the web times out when the client is syncing, even if it's not actually uploading the files. Adjusting the bandwidth in the client settings has no effect on this

Also, the big disconnect button flickers when clicked but has no effect. The only way I can get any bandwidth for uses other than Ubuntu One is to stop the syncdaemon through u1sdtool. Extremely frustrating. I would love to have a fix, or at least a workaround. I can't even find instructions for completely removing and reinstalling U1 on 12.04. I followed instructions for 11.10 already with no improvement.
