I have had the exact same problem on my MSI L730 laptop which also uses a GeForce GO 6100.

Installing the drivers manually using the following walkthrough suceeded without a problem: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MythTV/Install/Live/Feisty+/Hardware/Video_Nvidia?highlight=%28feisty%29%7C%28nvidia%29

I think I have the same problem, too. My Notebook uses a Geforce Go 6200. I already posted the details in the restricted-manager (upstream) section: https://bugs.launchpad.net/restricted-manager/+bug/102329
