Bug Description

I can not print with firefox. I need to create a PDF of a webpage and then I have to print it with evince.

The printing job is visible in the print queue, but never really executes.

Thunderbird prints fine though.

I've also had this problem since updating to 12.04 (64bit). I deactivated all add-ons in firefox but the problem remains. This problem was also mentioned in German-speaking ubuntu forums with no solutions yet...

Daniela, your error_log does not help much, as it does not contain any traces of a print job. You need to print out of Firefox, check with "lpstat -o" whether the job is in the queue and then wait some time, a minute or so. Only then copy your error_log and attach it.

This bug is probably the same as bug 998156. Please check whether "Custom.Custom." is somewhere in your error_log.

This bug's description describes my workaround for bug 998156: print from $Application to CUPS-PDF and print that PDF from Evince to printer.

The job captured by your error_log got sent with "PageSize=Custom.Custom.595.28x841.89", so we have a duplicate of bug 998156 here.
