Live boot of 7.04 Beta fails on HP dv6225us

Bug Description

I was unable to boot the Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 7.04 Beta live boot CD on my brand new HP dv6225us notebook.

ubuntu-7.04-beta-desktop-i386.iso

Downloaded from beta distribution site using bittorrent.

This notebook has:

AMD Turion TL-50 (dual core)
NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 graphics

I tried both regular graphics and safemode graphics. Neither worked.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description doesn't yet have enough information.

Are there any error outputs you see on your screen? Could you take a picture of them or write them down and tell us here?

I downloaded the ubuntu-7.04-beta-desktop-amd64.iso instead (the AMD version).

The boot stops immediately after:

* Setting up console font and keymap [OK]

and then progresses no further. There are no error messages. The boot up process just hangs.

See attached screenshot.

There are some earlier firmware errors but the don't seem like they would be related.
