We know that some users liked the old way better but we are aiming for consistency and to avoid confusion there.
It doesn't prevent us to work on solving the "it should be easy to make dialogs take 25% of the screen" scenario in a way which doesn't abuse the grid placement combos (could be to use another modifier than ctrl-alt for example for those), could somebody open a new bug to request that features to be included in some way?
