Bug Description

Now this problem was also in breezy and is quite imoportant:
After the installation, when the X first starts the screen is blank. (i can hear the sound produced by the login screen) but no image is shown.
The only way i could fix this is CTRL+ALT+F1 -> login -> edit xorg.conf file in this way:
on the Section "Device" i have to add this line:
 Option "MonitorLayout" "LVDS,Auto"
then save the file and restart X.
Everything works perfect after that in Breezy and Dapper Flight5 with and without fglrx installed.
Now i hope that you could make somehow that this thing could work by default, without the need to edit xorg.conf file manually bechause for a user that installs Ubuntu for the first time without knowing this will say "Ubuntu is not working".

Thanks for your bug report. This has already been reported in bug #22985. It probably affects most laptops with the ATI Radeon X700 card.
