I don't have a choice between logout options.

Bug Description

A couple of weeks ago, I enabled the upstream_version of the logout dialogs in gconf-editor. Now, I wanted to go back to the dapper defaults. I disabled upstream_version, restarted the gnome panel, and this is the result:

- I have a "Log Out michael" option under "System" in the menu, which immediately logs me out, without showing a menu.
- I don't have any other entries in the System menu.

So, the only way for me to shut down (without using the command line) is to log out first, and shutdown from the login window.

Of course, I cannot tell you how to reproduce this, since I would first need to know how to get the defaults back.

Even if we don't find how I got this problem in the first place, could someone tell me how to solve it? Any packages I should reinstall, reconfigure?

One thing has changed since I filed this bug: the menu entry is now called "Quit...". It still just logs me out, without offering me other choices first.

This bug can be closed.

I just had to enable System/Preferences/Sessions/SessionOptions/Ask on Logout.
