Bug Description
I have an Epson C80 printer connected to my computer via a parallel port cable.
If the printer is powered up when I boot into Ubuntu linux then Ubuntu will
detect the printer. To setup the printer I use System Configuration -> Printing
to bring up the gnome-cups-manager tool. Then I use the Add Printer function
which brings up the Add a Printer screen, Step 1 of 2: Printer Connection. This
screen has a window which lists my Epson Stylus C80 printer. Above this window
is a selected button and text which says "Use a detected printer:". Ah, very
good I think, my printer has been detected. So I click on the Forward button.
The screen changes to the Step 2 of 2: Printer Driver screen, with a
Manufacturer pull down menu button labeled Alps. This is not correct, if my
printer has been detected then I should not have to select a manufacturer and
model. Even worse, if I select Epson as the manufacturer there are many
different models listed but not the Epson Stylus C80, which was detected. The
printer model selection window is confusing, there are some specific printers
listed and there are also some generic terms such as Stylus, Stylus Color, ...
I selected stylus color, and went to print a test page. The test page printed
but was not correct, the page was offset slightly and took two sheets of paper
instead of one. I tried another one with the same result. So, I do not have
this printer working with Ubuntu.
This printer works nicely with Fedora Core 1. I also found that I am unable to
setup the printer using a web browser connected to the cups tool at
localhost:631, administration functionality has been disabled.

Which driver do you use in Fedora Core 1?
