Bug Description

I just installed Dapper flight 2 and booted up. The Gnome login screen comes up
and I type in all of my login information. Gnome logs in, but then does nothing
and sits with a brown background.'

Another issue I have found is that when I install any Ubuntu distro on to my
SATA hard drive (/dev/sda) I have to tell GRUB to install specifically to that
drive otherwise it will not work. After telling GRUB to install to /dev/sda I
have to change root from (hd2,1) to (hd0,1). And change the mapping/root on the
windows boot entry.

the fist issue could be bug #23426, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDateBug for more details. could you check if your date is correct by following the instructions in the above link.

can you file the second issue as a seperate bug. it makes it much easier to deal with. thanks

Changed in gnome-libs:
status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info
