Bug Description

I just ran the Ubuntu Edgy Beta 1 live cd on a Gateway M275 and when I press certain hotkey on this machine the hotkey event works, but the mouse pointer turns into a 1 inch square icon of pixel fuzz. After that when I move the mouse around it turns back to normal, then disapears, and eventually comes back. This is very strange and shouldn't happen. It occurs with the you press the status, wireless, or any of the brightness hotkeys. None of these hotkeys have keycodes as well.
