People over at the forums have been anxious about Kaffeine 0.8.1 -- it seems to resolve, among other things, DVD playback issues and media:/ handling issues.

It seems Kaffeine 0.8.1 is the version currently available in Debian unstable:
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/kde/kaffeine

Seems it won't be. We are in UpstreamVersionFreeze since January. The package seems ready though :

This will be in the edgy repos, but not the dapper repos, due to the UVF. Rejecting the bug.
