Bug Description

Binary package hint: kscreensaver

xscreensavers(-gl) are installed by default but kscreensaver-xsavers is not which renders xscreensavers unusable in kde or at least their configuration in kcontrol.

not really a bug but not very useful for kubuntu. gnome I guess can use these xscreensavers natively.

I'd say it's a bug. The kubuntu-desktop package installs kscreensaver but not kscreensaver-xsavers, rendering kscreensaver useless.

Testing on a new dapper installation.

xscreensavers-gl seems to need to be a dep of rss-glx <-- ogra, werent you uploading this fix? http://merges.ubuntu.com/r/rss-glx/REPORT indicates that it needs merging.

kscreensaver-xsavers should probably be a dep of kubuntu-desktop. Some of the screensavers in rss-glx are included in the default kscreensaver anyway. why?

Is this fixed with https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdeartwork/+bug/49228?

We dont really want to add a kscreensaver-xsavers dependancy, as that will pull in xscreensaver, and more gnome libs. (Which will come more into play when we remove openoffice from the cds, and put koffice there instead.
