Bug Description

Apparently koffice is at 1.5, while -i18n is at 1.4. This makes the translations be outdated, and people try to complete them in rosetta, making the KDE vs Rosetta thing a bit louder.

Same thing happens with k3b translations.

Could you please prefer the German upstream translation. The upstream is at 100% and there are no string changes in the Ubuntu package.

If possible I would like to suggest the same approach that you, carlos, did for the kde-i18n files. Mark all Rosetta translations as suggestions and put the upstream translations in place.

Thanks,

Sebastian

koffice-i18n-xx is at 1.5 but that hasn't been imported into Rosetta.

Jonathan, would you notify me about this kind of things in the future? (Edgy is supposed to have its universe translations handled with Rosetta too, but I'm not completely sure atm).

The problem is that koffice translation packages are in Universe and Rosetta is not importing Universe at all so we need to upload those translations by hand.

k3b has the same issue, should It be fixed too?

Sebastian, about your statement that you are going to upload those files yourself... Don't do that. You are not allowed to translate for all languages and that, will produce upstream translations seen as suggestions for most of the language we have with a translation team.

Carlos: I would never touch any other language. I only did this for the German translation to remove the Rosetta overwrites.

The k3b-i18n source tarball includes even four templates (k3b.po k3bsetup.po libk3bdevice.po libk3b.po), but only one can be translated in k3b.

They have been merged in k3b? Have I to upload all four to k3b to restore the upstream translation?

Ok about German translations. Anyway, I'm fixing that already for all languages.

About k3b, I see all translatable domains at:

Cheers.

Has the layout of Rosetta changed lately? I remeber that you had to select the corresponding template before you could see its statistics. So I didn't scrolled down. My fault.

amaroK is also affected...

No, Rosetta didn't change. We show a list without statistics when there are more than 5 templates in a source package. k3b has just 4, that's why you get also statistics.

About amarok, I don't see why it would be affected, the binaries and the translations are stored together. The problem with koffice and k3b is that they have the translations in their own translation tarball and those ones are stored in universe and, for dapper, we are not importing universe. Could you tell me the problem with amarok?

Ok, I understand the problem with koffice and k3b.

The issue with amaroK seems to be an other problem. About 50% of the german translation of amaroK is missing, but obviously this affects only the german translation. Dutch and Spanish have got a full translation in Rosetta.

k3b and koffice translations are now being imported.

The only translation domain that is not being imported is desktop_koffice from koffice because I didn't get any .pot file to use as the current one, I only have translations. Jonathan, if you send me that file, I will do the import.

Take into account that the imports are running atm so it would take one hour or so to have all imports done.

It's even much better than before, but at least in the following apps the translation is still _not_ correct:

Krita
KPlato

Thank you. Kplato has been imported now, but Krita and KSpread are still incomplete. Krita has only 1015 messages in Rosetta but should have 1258 and KSpread has 3034 and should have 3157.

Right, the .pot files had a problem with its header.

I fixed them by hand. Krita has less messages than you said, but that's what we got from our source code.

Cheers.

Thank you. Now everything regarding koffice seems to be correct. Btw. you are right, krita has more messages in svn, but for 1.5.0 it's correct.

When #47080 and #47824 get fixed, KDE and it's apps seem to be imported completely.
