Bug Description

Trying to boot with the parameter pci=noacpi on a FSC Amilo Pro V2030 fails. This does happen in Ubuntu Breezy and Dapper but does not happen in OpenSuSE 10.0 and 10.1 Alpha4.

I will attach a photo of the output.

Booting with this option is not something that is required to work. It is meant as a work around.

Does booting without it work? If not, have you tried other boot options:

Yes, it boots without pci=noacpi.
The problem is that I need to boot with pci=noacpi to get suspend to disk to work. And fan control only works when I hibernated before (FSC Amilo Pro V2030). In other distros booting with pci=noacpi works.

That's a seperate issue altogether. We can't guarantee that booting with this option will work now or in the future. It's a workaround.

What I'd really like is to resolve your other issues instead. The ones that occur without this option.

Please file bug report(s) for those issues.

Note, the 2.6.15-15 kernel that will be available in a few days has a huge acpi update. Maybe it will resolve some of your issues.

I already created bug reports for the other issues:

https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/laptop-mode/+bug/6554

https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/acpi-support/+bug/30093

It is possible that I selected the wrong packages when filing the bugs, if so I am sorry, it would be nice when you correct that then.

The 2.6.15-15 kernel does not fix the issues.
