Bug Description

I don't know what caused it but ifconfig is hanging.

Same thing happened here with newest Dapper (Flight-6 default install) when trying to mount an XFS partition.

PC is down at the moment, so can't post more, but it was the default packages of the i386 CD on a AMD64 X2 Dual-Core system.

This behavior didn't change even after installing the SMP-k7 kernel packages.

Flight-5 AMD64 CD worked fine.

Ben, can we close this one? I haven't seen the issue in forever on the same systems; up until a few weeks ago I was running K8 x86-64 dapper, switched back to i386 due to video driver breakage and Flash.
