Bug Description

I am using Kubuntu Dapper since Flight 2 and hibernate function was always working fine for me. Yesterday I have noticed that that hibernate does not work anymore - resume does not bring machine back anymore. I just get blank screen, cannot switch to text consoles or properly shutdown with Ctrl-Alt-Del.
This was the same with "ati" as well as "fglrx" driver.

Since I have pretty stuffed installation (fresh install was done with Kubuntu Flight4), including ubuntu-desktop and kubuntu-desktop, I have decided to reinstall. Since Kubuntu Flight5 is not available and install from daily build did not work (see bug 34586), I have installed Kubuntu Flight4. I have tested hibernate on Flight4 and everything worked as expected.
Then I have performed dist-upgrade and after reboot, hibernate stopped to work. If I boot in 2.6.15-15.21 kernel (Flight4), hibernate works again.

Marked as duplicate of bug 34587 where regression of hibernate feature is tracked for several notebooks.

Launchpad Janitor (janitor) wrote : This bug is now reported against the 'linux' package

Beginning with the Hardy Heron 8.04 development cycle, all open Ubuntu kernel bugs need to be reported against the "linux" kernel package. We are automatically migrating this linux-source-2.6.15 kernel bug to the new "linux" package. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make this transition. Also, if you would be interested in testing the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release, it is available at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . Please let us know your results. Thanks!
