Bug Description

The problem is I am trying to connect to my sagem my c4-2 and the damn thing wont work.

I have PL2303 setup and working unsatisfactorily. It isn't recognised as a BlueTooth device (ie. it has a HCID but the operating system isn't using this with hcitool).

Here is my dmesg with everything pertaining to this problem:

[4296853.527000] usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2[4296853.623000] pl2303 2-2:1.0: PL-2303 converter detected
[4296853.628000] usb 2-2: PL-2303 converter now attached to ttyUSB0

It doesn't register with anything as far as BlueTooth is concerned.

I think that I have everything working fine except for being able to connect to the phone.

How do I connect to the phone? I run MultiSync constantly to try and sync the thing. I dont know what to do from there. If you sync the damn thing how do you get at its data and all that crap.

I cant get any help from forums so I submit this bug report. If you want any more system information, send me an email or do whatever it is you do.

Thank you
I might be a bit upset but I've had this problem for some time.

I'm about to look into mounting the device.

Will also keep an eye out on forum that I posted for this bug.

Same problem here.
Seem the reason is they built experimental modules into the kernel like CONFIG_USB_BANDWIDTH
http://linux.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/Kernel/2006-06/msg03464.html

I am more and more thinking that ubuntu release cycle is flawed, in comparison of debian stable/testing/unstable.

This bug has had no activity for a considerable period. This is a check to see if there is still interest in investigating this bug report.
Is this still an issue against later releases?

The 18 month support period for Edgy Eft 6.10 has reached it's end of life. As a result, we are closing the linux-source-2.6.17 Edgy Eft kernel task.

Hardy Heron 8.04 was recently released. It would be helpful if you could test the new release and verify if this is still an issue - http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download . You should be able to test your bug using the LiveCD. Please let us know your results. Thanks.

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

1) If you are comfortable installing packages on your own, the linux-image-2.6.27-* package is currently available for you to install and test.

--or--

2) The upcoming Alpha5 for Intrepid Ibex 8.10 will contain this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. Alpha5 is set to be released Thursday Sept 4. Please watch http://www.ubuntu.com/testing for Alpha5 to be announced. You should then be able to test via a LiveCD.

Please let us know immediately if this newer 2.6.27 kernel resolves the bug reported here or if the issue remains. More importantly, please open a new bug report for each new bug/regression introduced by the 2.6.27 kernel and tag the bug report with 'linux-2.6.27'. Also, please specifically note if the issue does or does not appear in the 2.6.26 kernel. Thanks again, we really appreicate your help and feedback.

Unfortunately this bug report is being closed because we received no response to the last inquiry for information. However, the Intrepid Ibex 8.10 Beta release was most recently announced - http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/intrepid/beta . If you are able to confirm this is still an issue with this most recent release please feel free to reopen this report. To reopen the bug report you can click on the current status, under the Status column, and change the Status back to "New". Thanks.
