Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.17
i've already filled a bug for this issue: https:/
on dapper, and it persists on edgy knot1.
more specifically, my system boots fine and everything appers normal. suddenly i get a black screen with
critical temperature reached, shutting down.
and it just shuts down.
i started a thread where i explain in more detail what happens on ubuntuforums here:
http://
i've had this issue ever since ubuntu kernel version 2.6.15-22-386. it's not present on other distros i've tried nor when i compile the kernel from kernel.org, so my guess is that it's specific to ubuntu.
i've also noticed that when i boot the live cd with acpi=off, my system boots fine (except that the fans always run at full speed...)
i've found out that i don't have this issue if i use the boot option pci=noacpi.
