Bug Description
I noticed the Edgy 2.6.17 kernel was based on 2.6.17.4 (at least according to the packages.ubuntu.com changelog).
That would mean the Edgy kernel is still affected by the XFS Directory Corruption bug:

Please get that fix from 2.6.17.7 in the Edgy kernel!
