Bug Description

The version listadmin we ship doesn't work with the current version of mailman we have in the archive. This is a highly unsatisfactory situation.

However, the version available upstream (2.31 currently) at http://heim.ifi.uio.no/~kjetilho/hacks/#listadmin works very well.

The debian unstable version works as well:

Setting this as major (for the package) because at the moment it does not work at all with the mailman we ship (and apologies if it's not appropriate). Requesting UVF exception to Daniel UVF master.

This report lacks information we need to decide on this UVF exception request. Please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU/UVFStatus for more information, which pieces of information we need to process this report.

However, since you say that the old version is broken as hell and the new version fixes the world again, updating seems a good idea. But I'd really love to see a buildlog first.

Attached is a build log of listadmin 2.30-1 in my Dapper pbuilder chroot. It builds, installs and runs fine. I am happy to do further testing, pointing it at a mailman server if it is required.

I've been using the version from Debian daily on my [breezy] server to manage Launchpad and Async mailing lists -- it's been working fine, and I've seen no negative side effects. It doesn't appear anybody else in the world uses this package or else they'd have filed a bug as well.

I haven't read the diff nor had time to review the Changelog, unfortunately. I could say I will but at the rate I am busy pre-dapper, I would probably be lying!

This is fixed in Edgy. If you need this in Dapper, please open a bug requesting a backport. Thank you and apologies that this did not make it in for Dapper.

That's fine. I can go on using the Debian version until Edgy is out, no problem. Thanks for the kind follow-up.
