Missing .desktop file

This is a basic .desktop file. This source generates multiple binaries: someone else should provide a patch :)

This debdiff adds a desktop file to the package.

This bug is against a package in main, so it can't be uploaded by MOTUs. Matthias, you did the last lshw upload, so I figured you would be the right person to assign this bug.

at least in edgy, it's in universe

Filename: pool/main/l/lshw/lshw_02.06-3ubuntu1_i386.deb

Apparently the binary, at least, is in main.

The desktop file should go with the GUI application lshw-gtk in universe.

Emmet: You have written "Encoding=UTF-8" on the .desktop file. Isn't this *deprecated?

It is not yet fixed. The patch (and debdiff) are indeed out of date, and should not be used as-is. If there is real interest is addressing this, it may be best to report upstream.

Hi! Thanks for working to get the debdiff updated. Did you successfully build with this debdiff? I think there are a few things wrong (I see stuff in the .install file that belongs in the debian/rules file, for example, and there an "N" file?)

Can you build this and install the resulting package to verify that the .desktop works for you? Thanks!

There was a space at the end of the xpm path in the .menu file. I fixed that and sponsored the upload. :) Nice work!
