Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-thunderbird

distro : Kubuntu 6.06 Dapper
package : mozilla-thunderbird 1.5.02-0ubuntu2

when Thunderbird is started, there is no icon in the KDE-panel (instead there is an X).
Thunderbird's icon displays normally in the menu and in button to launch thunderbird from the panel.

This was okay for the 1.5.0.4 release, but now I'm seeing this again with 1.5.0.5-0ubuntu0.6.06 .

In mozilla-thunderbird 1.5.0.5-0ubuntu0.6.06 the files:

/usr/share/mozilla-thunderbird/icons/default.xpm
/usr/share/mozilla-thunderbird/icons/mozicon16.xpm
/usr/share/mozilla-thunderbird/icons/mozicon50.xpm

are not truly XPM files but Inkscape SVG files. Perhaps that is the reason.

This also breaks the moztraybiff extension [1].

I have replaced them with the original icons [2] and now everything works fine.

yes having svg data in .xpm is always a bug.

Ubuntu Edgy Eft is no longer supported, so a SRU will not be issued for this release. Marking Edgy as Won't Fix.
