Bug Description

Binary package hint: mysql-query-browser

I'm running Dapper 6.06 with installed packages updated. I have installed the server (version 5.0.21-standard) and client (version 5.0.19) versions of MySQL downloaded from MySQL web-site .

and:

mysql-admin 1.1.6-1build1
mysql-admin-common 1.1.6-1build1
mysql-common 5.0.21-3
mysql-query-browser 1.1.17-5ubuntu3
mysql-query-browser-common 1.1.17-5ubuntu3

installed through Synaptic. The server is starting and shutting-down on boot by the mysql.server script.

Problem: when I open mysql-query-browser, I'm able to see the databases and tables and do queries. However, when I double-click on any function present in the "Syntax" or "Function" tab the program closes. After starting the program using the terminal and after it closes I got the following message in the terminal:

[andbelo@localhost ~]$ mysql-query-browser
update flow align
*** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (out): 0x09c7ec98 ***
Aborted
[andbelo@localhost ~]$

with the line "update flow align" repeated 515 times.

Also using the 1.1.17-5ubuntu3 versions of query browser components. I get a slightly different symptom though. Sometimes it bails when I double click on a function, other times it does load the documentation page but crashes when I scroll down. I get the same error output on the terminal as andbelo except the 'update flow align' message is repeated about 80 times.

Rebuilding the package against libgtkhtml-3.8 seemed to fix this problem for me. I can post the deb if anyone wants it.

Crashes for me too. Ubuntu Dapper, latest updates as of 23.09.2006.
Double click on a help item:

update flow align
*** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (out): 0x09c3adb0 ***
zsh: abort mysql-query-browser
[...]
