Bug Description

From a dapper installation with python2.4-mysqldb installed:

root@volverine:~# sudo apt-get install mysql-server-4.1
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
The following extra packages will be installed:
  libdbd-mysql-perl libmysqlclient14 libmysqlclient15off mysql-client-4.1
The following packages will be REMOVED
  libmysqlclient15 python2.4-mysqldb
The following NEW packages will be installed
  libdbd-mysql-perl libmysqlclient14 libmysqlclient15off mysql-client-4.1 mysql-server-4.1
0 upgraded, 5 newly installed, 2 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 0B/20.6MB of archives.
After unpacking 42.6MB of additional disk space will be used.
Do you want to continue [Y/n]? n
Abort.

Why does ubuntu want to remove my python package and install a perl one? Some kind of marketing idea?
