Bug Description

Tried to install realplayer on Dapper:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
  realplayer: Depends: xlibs but it is not installable

I don't have either xlibs (actually it's not on the repositories) or xlibs-dev (which is on the repositories). However, I was able to install and run RealPlayer using Real's installer.

Same... but the package comes from multiverse component. A solution would probably be creating a new package especially for ubuntu.

The realplayer that is in ubuntu repositories (version 8) is unmaintained.

Add following repository to /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/dists/ dapper-commercial main

Update package listing and then install 'realplay'. This will install Real Player 10.

By the way the deb line should be (no "dists"):

deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu dapper-commercial main
