rhythmbox skips while playing mp3 on breezy ppc

Bug Description

rhythmbox skips while playing mp3's. the only time it doesn't skip is while there is not activity.

Scenario: I open up rhythmbox. I start playing an mp3. It plays perfectly. Then i open up a firefox window, and it starts skipping all over the place. I have to pause and play again to get it to play without skipping. I get to the next song this way. When it start the next song, it starts skipping again without any other activity.

All other media players i tried also skip, including xmms, bmp and mp3blaster, but resume playing normally after activity is lessened. This also happens if i nice -5/-10 rhyhtmbox.

I also forgot to mention that I am using ALSA and not ESD or anything fancy. Only single sound process at a time.

Do you have the issue if you play it with 'gst-launch-0.8 playbin uri="file:///path/to/my/musicfile.ogg"'?

Sorry, don't have access to the machine right now (past one month). Works fine on a faster ibook.

Works fine on an another box according to the submitter and gstreamer0.10 on dapper might fix some such issue too. I'm closing the bug for now. Feel free to reopen if you get the issue again. Trying with dapper would be nice too

It's skips for me too, when there are activities with the rythmbox menus ...if i select some of the menus (Music, Edit, Control, Help...) and choose an option it skips when the selected action is performed.

Rythmbox stop signs. I found that in the Gomne window there is a button to turn off and on visualizations. If I click the button so it has a white square around the button, then the stop signs next to the music file goes away and I can play the file.
