This isn't really a problem with the kernel - you tried to install many packages including linux-restricted modules and they all had broken dependencies. eg:

Package linux-restricted-modules-386 has broken dep on linux-restricted-modules-2.6.17-10-386

Can you attach a copy of your /etc/apt/sources.list file?

Thanks for your bugreport.

I tracked down the problem to the fact that a new edgy kernel was relased but not fully available on all mirrors yet. That is why it was missing.

linux-restricted-modules was not updated because of a missing "restricted" line in the sources.list

Cheers,
 Michael
