Bug Description

The Package "viewmol 2.4.1-6ubuntu1" installable via Synaptic does not contain the executable "viewmol"

I confirm this bug.
I downloaded the source package and indeed viewmol is not correctly compiled although the packaging process seems to succeed.

The viewmol binary can not be compiled because the file libXp.a is missing.
The package libxp-dev should be added in the Build-Depends section of the control file.

(strangely, it is present in the debian package, why has it been removed ?)

viewmol depends on lesstif2-dev which depends on libxp-dev (I suppose this is new ??), so viewmol just need to be rebuild to contain the "viewmol" executable again. I've tested in a dapper i386 pbuilder chroot.
