Bug Description

On a fresh install of Flight 2, I ended up with the vesa graphic driver, instead
of normally used (in Hoary/Breezy/early Dapper) i810 driver.

I still have the same problem with a fresh install of Flight 3. The installer gives me the vesa driver by default. To get i810, I must go and manually select it with a dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

I also appear to have this same bug on a Sony Vaio TX650P.

The video chip is an i915, but the driver installed by flight 3 is VESA.

Please let me know if there is any more information you would like me to provide.

For me manual selection does not provide any help, since with i810 no image is displayed. So detection is not the only problem.

The recent update of discover1-data should solve this problem:

I have tested it by running discover1; before this update, the video driver to use was identified as "unknown". Now it is identified as "i810".
