Does not work on my ATi X800

I have the same situation and reported a more detailed bug at
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+bug/77565

Please attach Xorg.0.log to the bug report, to see which bug this is a duplicate of.

The Xorg.0.log above it from the dapper live cd. The exact same thing happens with later versions of the Ubuntu live cd and it always have to reconfigure X to use vesa to get the live cd to work.
