Bug Description

Yakuake binds to the F12 key by default. On an iBook or PowerBook, Ubuntu maps F12 to right-click by default. I am in a catch-22 here: if I could run yakuake by pressing F12, I could change it's keybinding, but I can't do that, because F12 is mapped to the right mouse button.

If you are not prepared to change the default keybinding of yakuake, at least put a README file in /usr/share/doc/yakuake explaining a solution (e.g. I think I could manually change a config file somewhere, but I haven't figured that out yet).

To change the access key, open YaKuake and on the right there's a little arrow pointing down, press it and there's a 'Shortcut' section. There should be a 'Change access key...' option, there you should be able to change the F12 option to whatever you want.

Bug FIXED.

No, that's not fixed. We need to either patch the default accesskey, or provide a readme, as per the reporter's request. Plus, that workaround doesn't work since the reporter cannot open yaKuake anyways.

It seems to me, however, that the insane default here is F12 -> right-click, not F12 -> yaKuake.

I've been doing some stuff on this and this may work - add this to your ~/.kde/share/config/yakuakerc:

[Global Shortcuts]
AccessKey=F11

And that should overwrite it.

I see there was apatch or upload on 2006-01-06. Did that upload fix this bug and the status got dropped? Could someone look into this?

Thanks,

Jonathan
